Machine Learning Engineer, Trust & Safety
Job Description

As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Trust & Safety team, you will play a critical role in building and deploying ML systems to detect and mitigate harmful content, biases, and other safety risks in our AI models. You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of AI, ethics, and product development, developing innovative solutions to make our AI systems safer and more aligned with human values.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and deploy ML models and systems for content moderation, bias detection, and safety policy enforcement.
- Design experiments to evaluate the effectiveness and fairness of safety systems.
- Collaborate with research, product, and policy teams to define and implement safety strategies.
- Build robust data pipelines and infrastructure for training and evaluating safety models.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI safety research and best practices.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or a related role.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with NLP and/or classification/detection tasks.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Master's or PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with large-scale ML systems and distributed training.
- Experience in AI ethics, safety, or responsible AI development.
- Experience with data analysis and evaluation metrics for safety-critical applications.
