Overview
Severity: MEDIUM | Affected: Aperture Labs | Category: tool
Security research firm Aperture Labs has released LLM-Guard, a new open-source tool designed to automate the process of red teaming large language models. The framework provides a comprehensive suite of modules for testing against a wide range of vulnerabilities, including prompt injection, data leakage, insecure output handling, and denial-of-service attacks. LLM-Guard integrates with popular model providers and allows developers to define custom test cases and security policies in a simple YAML format. By open-sourcing the tool, Aperture Labs aims to democratize AI security testing and enable organizations to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in their AI applications before deployment. The release is seen as a significant step towards standardizing AI security assessments and embedding security into the MLOps lifecycle.
